On October 16th, from 8:30am - 12:30pm, IBEX will be hosting a volunteer event at Jonathan’s Place in Garland. Jonathan’s Place is a shelter and educational facility that provides a safe place for children and teens who have been victims of abuse, abandonment, or neglect. The organization has been around for 30 years and provides a variety of services which include an on-site shelter and therapy center.
We will be looking for around 15 members who aren’t afraid to their hands dirty, as we will be working outdoors to revitalize Jonathan's Place's grounds and on-campus playground, similar to our service project with Vogel Alcove this past spring. This is a great opportunity to make a meaningful impact ahead of Ibex Club’s First Annual Gala on October 23rd.

More info:
Since 1991, Jonathan’s Place (JP) has provided a safe harbor for children and young adults who have been subject to abuse, neglect, or trafficking. Notably, JP is one of only a handful of local shelters that provides long term care to children under the age of 5, allowing them to keep sibling groups together. It is also one of the few agencies that offers long term care to children who are trafficking victims. Along with housing children at their on campus emergency shelter, the organization works to arrange housing through a local foster system. In 2020, JP also arranged adoptions for 30 children. For more information about JP, please visit their website: https://www.jpkids.org/about/.
